Soaring gliders is a sport that can be enjoyed by people of virtually all ages. I fly form the Gliding Club of Western Australia, Cunderdin.
From the beginning of time mankind has gazed skywards and dreamed of soaring like a bird. For thousands of years he could only dream. Then earlier this century, that dream finally became a reality. Now we can soar aloft on the currents of rising air. We really do glide gracefully, high above the earth, detached and free for hours on end! And yet amazingly, very few people are aware that this age-old dream is not only within their grasp, but affordable too.
Log Keeping has always been a time consuming job for the gliding

The Gliding club of Western Australia is situated at Cunderdin in the heart of the Wheat Belt, only one and a half hours drive from Midland. The club was established in 1944 and moved to Cunderdin in 1959, being the longest established club in the state.
GCWA has grown to be a close knit club with not only a strong lean towards Cross-country flying, but also a social group of friends. From the Young and Old, Male and Female. Gliding is truly a sport for all.
If you are interested in learning how to fly then there is no better place than visiting our club at Cunderdin on a weekend. Call me on 042 999 2468 or the club phone 0409 683 159 and learn not only how to fly, but also how to race cross country across the vast expanses of our wheat belt.
Having been in the sport of gliding since 1980 I have clocked up a considerable number of hours flying, in addition to writing a considerable number of articles to hopefully assist pilots fly further and faster and safer. Rather than keeping these articles locked up in my computer I have decided to publish them on the web for all to read and hopefully learn from my experiences. Go to the list of articles and download.
